Dr. Roger Buckley is a urologist at North York General Hospital. Dr. Buckley was born and raised in Toronto. He attended the University of Toronto where he earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1980. He completed his internship and urology residency also at the University of Toronto. He has been on staff at North York General Hospital since 1985 and was Chief of Urology from 2002 - 2023. He has been a member and chaired many committees during this time. He was president of the Medical Staff Association and on the Board of Governors of the Hospital from 1998 – 2000.

He helped conceptualize and open the Gale and Graham Wright Prostate Center together with Dr. Andrew Loblaw at North York General Hospital as a joint partnership with Sunnybrook Hospital in 2007. The Wright Prostate Center has promoted multidisciplinary approaches to the management of prostate cancer and has helped develop the successful use of transperineal prostate biopsy techniques under local anesthetic.

Roger Buckley has been a keen promoter of community urology activities in Toronto and beyond. His research interests and publications include prostate and urothelial cancer. His citation rate is 1786. He is the Vice President of the International Bladder Cancer Group (IBCG) and serves as an advisor to the Prostate Cancer Support Toronto (PCS Toronto). He is a proud father of 3 young men and maintains a keen interest in golf and cycling.

Radiation Oncologist

Dr. Andrew Loblaw is a Radiation Oncologist, Clinician Scientist, and dual Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and the Institute of Health Policy Management & Evaluation at the University of Toronto. He’s the Site Group Co-Lead for Genitourinary Oncology at Sunnybrook.

He received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of British Columbia and his Doctor of Medicine from Queen’s University. He completed his specialty training in Radiation Oncology concurrent with a Masters degree in Clinical Epidemiology to graduate from the Royal College’s Clinician Investigator Program, all at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Loblaw’s clinical practice and research interest focus on improving outcomes for men with prostate cancer and the healthcare system. He has a particular interest in the design and conduct of clinical trials, the generation and dissemination of evidence-based guidelines and in image-guided radiotherapy.

Dr. Loblaw is an Ontario Association of Radiation Oncology Clinician Scientist and a Senior Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute. A Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO), he was previous Co-Chair of the ASCO’s Genitourinary Advisory Group and remains Co-Chair of the GU group for Cancer Care Ontario’s Program in Evidence-Based Care. He has authored over 325 peer reviewed papers including the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Lancet Oncology, JAMA Oncology and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He has been awarded grant funding of over Cdn$52M.

He has performed over 2000 brachytherapy and 700 transperineal biopsy/seed insertion/rectal spacer procedures over the past 25 years.

Dr. Saslawsky graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1979.  He earned his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis, and trained as an intern, surgical resident, and Urological resident at the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, where he was chief resident from 1987-88.  He performed the first laser stone case in the Mid-South and still has a continuing interest in treating kidney stones.  Dr. Saslawsky brought Microwave prostate thermotherapy to Memphis and supported minimally invasive technology in the treatment of BPH, female urology and the use of Interstim neuromodulation for bladder and bowel control problems. He consults with infertile couples and performs microsurgical vasectomy reversals.

Dr. Saslawsky is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Tennessee Urology Department.

Dr. John Pettit is a dedicated physician who is committed to providing the best and most comprehensive care for his patients. Dr. Pettit is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urological Association, the Northwest Urological Society, and the Washington State Urological Society. He has practiced in Bellingham for over 20 years and has served on both the Credentials Committee and the Committee of Surgical Privileges. He is a member of the Surgery Department at St. Joseph Hospital and also served for a period as Chief of Surgery. As a founding partner of Cascade Urology Lithotripsy Company, Dr. Pettit was instrumental in bringing to the Northwest successful, advanced urology treatments, including lithotripsy, a now-common and effective way to dissolve kidney stones.

Dr. Pettit is a graduate of Columbia University in New York, where he earned a degree in Chemical/Biomedical Engineering. He went on to study medicine at St. George’s University then completed his urology residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Pettit has always had a love of the outdoors. He is married and the father of three sons. Together they enjoy fishing, camping, bee-keeping, skiing, and wood-working.

Xiaosong Meng, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the <a href="https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/urology/" target="_blank">Department of Urology</a> at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in <a href="https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/prostate-cancer/" target="_blank">prostate</a>, <a href="https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/kidney-cancer/" target="_blank">kidney</a>, <a href="https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/testicular-cancer/" target="_blank">testicular</a>, and <a href="https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/bladder-cancer/" target="_blank">bladder cancer</a>.

Dr. Meng earned his medical degree and doctoral degree in cell and molecular biology at New York University, where he also completed a residency in urology. He received advanced training in urologic oncology through a fellowship at UT Southwestern.

He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021.

Dr. Meng's clinical interests include prostate cancer and focal therapy for prostate cancer, kidney cancer, testicular cancer, and bladder cancer.

The author of numerous scholarly articles and presentations, Dr. Meng’s research focuses on better understanding the molecular mechanisms that underlie the immune response in order to determine which prostate cancer patients are best managed by focal therapy.

He also researches ways to improve diagnosis and treatment of kidney and prostate cancer, the metabolomics of genitourinary malignancies, and focal or partial treatment choices for localized prostate cancer.

He completed his fellowship in minimally invasive and <a href="https://bellinghamurologygroup.com/robotic-surgery/" target="_blank">robotic surgery</a> at the City of Hope National Medical Center, one of the busiest and most progressive robotic surgery centers in the world. After completing his training he has performed over 800 robotic surgeries. Dr. Orton has extensive da Vinci robot surgical experience in advanced surgery and treatment of urologic cancer of the bladder, kidney, and prostate.

For the past seven years, Dr. Orton has served as Assistant Professor and Medical Director of Urology at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. It is here that his experience as a urologist and minimally invasive surgical specialist has uniquely prepared him for this exciting new stage of his personal and professional life on the west coast. Dr. Orton has also been recognized at an international level for his expertise most recently in Italy.

During his time away from his profession, Dr. Orton enjoys spending time with friends, family and his kids. He loves to travel, listen to music, attend live music events, eating and experiencing good foods, and enjoys being outdoors. Professor Tiago Rodrigues develops his activity in three areas that complement each other: Urology, Teaching and Research.   Born in Cascais and trained at Hospital Egas Moniz, from an early age he developed a strong dedication to laparoscopic surgery and oncology, having spent 6 months intern at Clinique Saint Augustin with Dr. Richard Gaston. He pioneered the introduction of laparoscopic techniques in various services, such as Hospital Egas Moniz and Hospital Particular do Algarve, namely laparoscopic promontofixation, laparoscopic radical prostatectomy or laparoscopic cystectomy.   He currently works in the private sector, having been the first surgeon to use the Dex Surgical® robotic forceps in urological surgery in the Iberian Peninsula, the first to use, in Portugal, the Artisential® articulated forceps and the Freehand® robotic arm and responsible for the introduction of ExactVu® technology in our country.   His teaching activity lasted more than a decade as a monitor and, later, assistant in Pathophysiology at the NOVA Medical School in Lisbon. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the same University.   Dedication to research was dominated in recent years with the work that led to the PhD thesis, completed in December 2021, and the conditions are now in place to diversify the areas of interest and the scope of his work.   For several years now, he has carried out a surgical activity of a humanitarian nature in São Tomé and Príncipe, which translates into regular missions to this country.

Adam Kinnaird is a Surgeon Scientist and the Frank and Carla Sojonky Chair in Prostate Cancer Research in the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery at the University of Alberta. He completed a fellowship in Imaging, Targeted Biopsy and Focal Therapy for Prostate Cancer at UCLA. His lab studies translational prostate cancer research with a focus on new drugs, technologies, and devices. Adam was a varsity athlete and graduate of the University of Alberta, having won two national championships while he was a member of the Golden Bears men’s ice hockey team. He completed his MD and Urology residency at the U of A, during which he was enrolled in the Clinician Investigator Program. He completed his PhD as a Vanier Scholar and was awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal in research. He has published in high impact journals such as Nature Reviews Cancer, Cell, and European Urology and has been awarded funding from local, regional, and national grant competitions since starting as an Assistant Professor in November 2020.

Dr. Beshai was born in Assiut, Egypt, and his family immigrated to the United States when he was 10 years of age. He grew up in Los Angeles, Calif., and attended UCLA where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and received Highest Honors in Biochemistry. After completing medical school at UCLA he went on to do his internship in surgery at Duke University. He completed his second year in surgery at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles and received his urology training back at Duke University. He has been serving Grand Junction & the Western Slope since joining Urological Associates of Western Colorado in 1993.

Dr. Beshai’s practice is one of general urology with a focus on urologic oncology. He has vast experience in open surgery and since 2006 he has performed numerous robotic surgeries for benign and malignant urologic conditions. Dr. Beshai has served on several boards of directors in Grand Junction including St. Mary’s Foundation, Rocky Mountain Health Plans and Community Hospital. He enjoys many outdoor activities with his family including hiking, biking, skiing and horseback riding.

François Cornud did his residency (1974-1978) and his fellowship (1978-1980) at Xavier Bichat University. He practiced as a consultant radiologist at Bichat Hospital until 1986. He moved to private practice in Clinique de l’Alma in 1987 with Dr Didier Bonnel. His training at Bichat Hospital led him to specialize in diagnostic and interventional urinary imaging. For the past ten years, he subspecialized in prostate imaging and his notoriety has been established by numerous publications and invited lectures dedicated to prostate cancer MRI and prostate biopsies. Dr. Ward is a clinical scientist with exclusive focus on the management of prostate and testicular cancers. He is recognized as one of the early thought leaders in the prostate cancer imaging and focal therapy.  His contributions laid the ground work that has helped this approach gain recognition as an acceptable therapeutic strategy for select patients with prostate cancer.  He helped develop ablative techniques using variety of energy and imaging techniques including the early studies of interstitial laser ablation, focal cryotherapy and high-intensity focused ultrasound.  He is equally involved in development of urine and blood bio-markers of prostate cancer and now image guided targeted prostate biopsy. As a busy clinician, Dr. Ward not only pioneered the MD Anderson Cancer Center Prostate cancer imaging and focal therapy program while performing nearly 200 robotic assisted prostatectomies a year,  but he also developed the MD Anderson technique of robotic retroperitoneal lymph node dissection and has now expanded this surgery into both the post-chemotherapy setting and as primary treatment for metastatic seminoma.   A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Ward trained at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota before completing a career with the US Navy.  He joined the faculty at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in 2006 and has risen to the rank of Full Professor with Tenure.

Dr. Nishiya was born in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in 1985. He received his medical degree from the University of California at Davis in 1990 and went to University of Colorado for his surgical and urologic training.
After finishing his residency in 1996, he completed a Urologic Oncology fellowship at the University of Colorado in 1997. After his fellowship, he came to Grand Junction and joined Urological Associates of Western Colorado. He is board certified in adult and pediatric urology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Nishiya helped establish the Pelvic Health and Wellness Center in 2007 and now focuses on female urologic issues. Special interests include urinary incontinence, recurrent bladder infections, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor disorders, and painful bladder syndromes. He has extensive experience in female reconstructive surgery, including robotic surgery using the DaVinci robot.

Dr. Christian P. Pavlovich is Professor of Urology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is the Director of Urological Oncology at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Fellowship Director of Urologic Oncology for the Brady Urological Institute.

Dr. Pavlovich treats cancer with an emphasis on minimizing morbidity and maximizing quality of life, while offering patients the latest treatment options and techniques.

His clinical focus is on prostate cancer, kidney cancer, and associated disorders, and on clinical trials regarding cancer detection and cancer immunotherapy. He is experienced in performing open, laparoscopic and other minimally invasive surgeries for the management of urologic tumors, including nerve-sparing and robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, laparoscopic and robotic nephrectomy, nephroureterectomy, and partial nephrectomy, and robotic radical cystectomy. In addition, he offers patients active surveillance and ablative options for their urinary malignancies including cryotherapy and prostate laser ablation.

He has been a National Institutes of Health- and Department of Defense-funded investigator whose research focuses on identifying early-detection methods for prostate and kidney cancer, including novel urinary biomarkers and imaging modalities for these diseases.

Dr. Pavlovich earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. He completed a urology residency at New York Hospital and a National Cancer Institute fellowship in urologic oncology before joining the Hopkins faculty in 2001.

American Board of Urology-certified, Dr. Pavlovich has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and is on the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Urology International.

Dr. Howard Woo earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He completed his surgery residency at the University of California at Irvine Medical Center and his urology residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, where he also completed a min-fellowship in neuro-urology.   Dr. Woo holds diplomate certification from the American Board of Urology and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1998. An active researcher, Dr. Woo has several scientific medical articles, abstracts, presentations, and lectures to his credit.   Dr. Woo specializes in general urology, including prostate and bladder problems, urinary incontinence, kidney stone disease, and men's health including erectile dysfunction, low testosterone, voiding dysfunction, and neurobiology (sacral nerve stimulation) for bladder control issues. His additional specialties include minimally invasive therapy for BPH, brachytherapy for prostate cancer, endoscopic surgery, and LGBTQ+ healthcare.

Gregg R. Eure, M.D. offers expertise in all aspects of adult urology. He has special interest in prostate disease, erectile dysfunction, stone disease, no-scalpel vasectomy, and Men’s Health. Dr. Eure has gained an international reputation in the treatment of Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) or enlarged prostate. He is active in clinical research and has been an investigator in numerous clinical trials. He serves as the research chairman for the Urology of Virginia Research Department. He has been a leader in investigating minimally invasive treatments for BPH. He also serves as a consultant for several medical equipment companies. He has served on numerous advisory and editorial boards. Dr. Eure has written many articles and book chapters. He is often invited to lecture on various topics in urology. His peers have recognized Dr. Eure as a “Top Doc” in Coastal Virginia Magazine. He has been honored multiple times as a “Top Doc” in the magazine including as a “Top Doc for Men”.  He helped found the local chapter of the prostate cancer support group, Man to Man. He continues to serve as a physician leader, and he is involved in the management of his group, Urology of Virginia.

Neal D. Shore, MD, FACS is the Medical Director for the Carolina Urologic Research Center. He practices with Atlantic Urology Clinics in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Dr. Shore has conducted more than 350 clinical trials, focusing mainly on GU Oncology, and serves on the Executive Boards of: Society of Urologic Oncology Board, Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network, and is Immediate Past President, Large Urology Group Practice Association. He is a founder for both: CUSP Clinical Trials Consortium, as well as for DASHKO, large urology practices data registries. He serves as the National Urology Research Director for 21st Century Oncology. He has served on the AUA Male Health Committee and the AUA Data Committee, the SITC Task Force for Prostate Cancer, the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Think Tank and the editorial boards of Reviews in Urology, Urology Times, Chemotherapy Advisor, OncLive, PLOS ONE(Academic Editor),  Urology Practice, World Journal of Urology, and serves as Editor, Everyday Urology-Oncology. Jennifer Tse, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the <a href="https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/urology/" target="_blank">Department of Urology</a> at UT Southwestern Medical Center. As a general urologist, she treats a variety of urologic conditions, ranging from <a href="https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/enlarged-prostate/" target="_blank">benign prostatic hyperplasia</a> (BPH), <a href="https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/kidney-stones/" target="_blank">stone disease</a>, and elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA) to <a href="https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/female-urology-problems/" target="_blank">female urology</a> and <a href="https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/bladder-cancer/" target="_blank">urologic cancers</a>.

Dr. Kassabian earned his medical degree from University of Montreal, Quebec, then went on to complete his urologic residency at the University of Montreal. He completed further training as a research fellow in urologic oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. There he served as clinical instructor of urologic oncology before transitioning to assistant professor of surgery at Emory University. It was at Emory that Dr. Kassabian was awarded “Teacher of the Year” for his role in the advancement of education. He also served as Chief of Urology at the VA Hospital in Atlanta.

Some of Dr. Kassabian’s former notable appointments include Medical Director of Georgia Urology, P.A., and member of the Cancer Committee, Peer Review Committee, and Contractor Advisory Committee of CAHABA. He currently serves as the Urology Consultant for Palmetto, the regional Medicare carrier, Contributing Editor for the publication “Reviews in Urology” and is a reviewer for “Urology Practice.”

Voted one of Atlanta Magazine’s Top Doctors in 2018, he has extensive experience in clinical research, numerous national and international presentations, publications and book chapters, mostly related to cancer and prostate disease.

Isamu Tachibana, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the <a href="https://utswmed.org/why-utsw/departments/urology/" target="_blank">Department of Urology</a> at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Tachibana grew up in Texas and earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Fallen completed his urology fellowship and chief residency at the Mayo Clinic Rochester in 1992. He immediately joined a Minneapolis urology group practice where he has established himself as a well liked and well-respected urologic surgeon. Dr. Sean Collins specializes in the treatment of prostate, bladder and kidney cancers with minimally invasive surgery. A native New Orleanian, Dr. Collins earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry cum laude from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA in 1993. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1997 where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.   From 1997 until 1999, Dr. Collins completed two years of general surgery residency at LSU-Ochsner in preparation for the LSU-Ochsner Urology residency program which he completed from 1999 through 2003. After practicing in New Orleans for two years, Dr. Collins was selected for the Columbia University – Southwest Oncology Group fellowship in minimally invasive urologic oncology in New York, NY.   After returning to New Orleans, Dr. Collins developed surgical programs at multiple medical centers in South Louisiana. He has written book chapters, published in peer-reviewed journals, and is a reviewer for multiple medical journals. His current research focuses on surgical outcomes. After his residency, he came back to Dallas to pursue a fellowship in oncology at UT Southwestern. The two-year Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship included both research and advanced clinical training in complex open and minimally invasive surgery. During this fellowship, he was the recipient of a National Institutes of Health training grant. His research interests are broad, and he has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and multiple book chapters in urology. Dr. Murray joined Urological Associates of Western Colorado in Grand Junction in 2000. He is a former clinical staff member at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center where he served as the Residency Directory at Kaiser Permanente.

Dr. Murray has served as Chief of Surgery, Chairman of the Operating Room Steering Committee, and Board Member at St. Mary’s Hospital. Dr. David Sikule grew up in Albany, New York, where he completed his residency at Albany Medical College. His passion lies in general urology, where he can assist and support patients throughout their treatment journey.  When Dr. Sikule isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two cats, and 12-year-old Dog who happens to be his #1 ski partner. A perfect weekend for Dr. Sikule involves getting active by adventuring outdoors. Dr. A. Dev Mally received a prestigious academic scholarship to Drexel University College of Medicine where he earned his medical degree and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society.   He then completed his internship in General Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, followed by a residency in Urology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Upon completion of residency, he pursued a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Mally has published numerous journal articles on topics ranging from kidney cancer to robotic and minimally invasive surgery. His work has been presented in numerous national and international conferences. While Dr. Mally specializes in all aspects of genitourinary surgery, he has special expertise in treating urologic cancers including prostate, kidney, bladder, adrenal and testes cancer. He was a Fellow and Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, which has ranked as one of the top two hospitals in cancer care every year since U.S. News & World Report began its annual “America’s Best Hospitals” survey in 1990. During this time, Dr. Mally completed a Clinical Research Methodology Curriculum funded by the National Institute of Health and was a primary author for a clinical trial utilizing checkpoint inhibitors to treat non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. This novel treatment that unleashes the body’s own disease fighting cells against cancer –an approach known as immunotherapy – has been heralded as the “Breakthrough of the Year” by Sciencemagazine in 2013.

Dr. Casey McCullough is board certified in Urology and joins us as an accomplished urologic surgeon specializing in robotic and minimally invasive surgery for benign and malignant conditions of the urinary tract.  He previously practiced in Connecticut and began a de novo community hospital robotics surgery program which grew to one of the most successful in New England.  Dr. McCullough’s other interests include stone disease, minimally invasive treatments for BPH, cancer of the prostate/kidney/bladder, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and blood in the urine.

Dr. McCullough earned his undergraduate degree from Colby College graduating Magna Cum Laude, with honors in both double majors of Biochemistry and Music.  He was a principal saxophonist in the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Symphony, as well as a two-sport varsity athlete in Ice Hockey and Lacrosse.  He then completed his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine concurrently with an MBA at the St. Joseph’s University Haub School of Business.  Dr. McCullough finished his urologic residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and finally his fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic surgery at the prestigious L’Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris, France, where the laparoscopic prostatectomy was pioneered!

Dr. McCullough is an extensively published author in peer-reviewed journals and medical book chapters, and presented at national meetings.  For multiple years, Dr. McCullough has been named a “Top Doctor” by Connecticut Magazine.  He is thrilled to join the premier Urology group in Atlanta and provide the best technologically advanced urologic care in a compassionate and caring manner.

Dr. Richard David serves as Associate Clinical Professor of Urology for the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  He serves on the Attending Staff in Surgery/Urology at Harbor UCLA Medical Center and Olive View UCLA Medical Center.  He is certified by the American Board of Urology.

His clinical and research interests include minimally invasive endoscopic treatment for urologic diseases. He has published extensively and presented at many international conferences in this area.

Dr. David serves as Chief of Surgery at Motion Picture and Television Hospital (MPTVH) in Woodland Hills, CA.  In addition to MPTHV, Dr. David serves on staff at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, Providence Tarzana Medical Center, Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Encino Hospital, Sherman Oaks Hospital, Harbor UCLA Medical Center and Olive View UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. David obtained his undergraduate education at Stanford University and his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He trained in general surgery and completed his urology residency at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. David is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Urological Association, the American Medical Association, and the California Urologic Association.  He is also a member in the American Association of Clinical Urologists, American Lithotripsy Society, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons.

He is honored to be selected for inclusion on the Super Doctors ® List in Urology for 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.  Only five percent of urologists are selected to this List each year.  He's equally honored to be chosen by the Consumers' Research Council of America as one of America's Top Urologists for four years in a row: 2009 - 2012. Dr. David is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Frances Martin was the Bobby C. Powell Intern of the Year during her General Surgery internship at the University of Kentucky. She also received the Medical Student Enrichment Program Travel Award for training in Russia while at UAB. Dr. Martin has completed multiple research projects in areas of urologic oncology, urologic stone disease and gynecology among others. Dr. Martin is a member of the medical honor society of Alpha Omega Alpha, The American Medical Association and The Society for Urologic Oncology. She has written numerous publications and is involved with many civic organizations. Dr. Martin is a Fellowship Trained Urologic Oncologist. She specializes in minimally invasive procedures, including partial nephrectomies, radical nephrectomies and radical prostatectomies. She also has interest in localized and advanced bladder cancer.

Dr. Langston has a broad experience in all aspects of adult urology with a particular interest in Men’s Health – focusing on Erectile Dysfunction, Peyronie’s Disease, infertility, and voiding difficulties related to the prostate. He uses this background to provide knowledgeable and personalized care to his patients at Urology of Virginia. In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Langston has an active academic career with interest in teaching medical students and residents, and furthering the field of urology. He is the author of numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles focusing on Men’s Health and his particular interest in health policy. During medical school, he was the co-founder of a student-run free medical clinic, which continues to run successfully, now in its tenth year. During training he served as the President of the UNC Housestaff, was among the first trainees to be inducted into the UNC Academy of Educators, and received the American College of Surgeons Leadership/Advocacy Scholar Award. He was winner of the American Urologic Association National Chief Resident debate in his final year, was the recipient of a Resident Scholar award from IVU Med for sponsorship to perform surgery in Haiti, and twice served as keynote speaker at the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine speaking on the topic of leadership and the future of medicine. While in the UK, Dr. Langston was selected to participate in the Executive Mentoring Program sponsored by NHS England for doctors with special interest in executive leadership in medicine.

James D. Young, MD is proficient in all aspects of adult urology. He has special interests in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of kidney stone disease and management of BPH. He also specializes in seed placement for prostate cancer and no-scalpel vasectomy.

Dr. Young is a native of Tidewater.  He practiced urology with Urological Associates in Charlottesville, VA for four years and relocated to Virginia Beach to be closer to family. He joined Urology Associates of Tidewater, which subsequently merged with several other urology practices in the Hampton Roads area to form the current Urology of Virginia. Dr. Young helped the group transition to electronic medical records, and he is especially excited about the current computerized medical records system and the synergy generated by the combining of staff and medical talents under one roof.

Dr. Young is married with two children. Together they enjoy tennis, travel, camping and skiing. Dr. Young donates much of his free time to the Boy Scouts of America.

Dr. Young is a member of the American Urological Association, the Mid-Atlantic AUA, the American Medical Association, the Virginia Medical Society and the Tidewater Urologic Association where he is serving as the Secretary and Treasurer. Dr. Young is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Upon completing his training, Dr. Rosenfeld spent the first seven years as the chief of urology at the Fallon Clinic, where he especially enjoyed teaching urology residents as an assistant professor of urology at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine. From there he went on to build a very successful solo practice in Tucson, Arizona, where he was dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art patient care delivered in a personal, caring environment. He brings these same values to Urology of Virginia and will continue to focus on prostate enlargement, diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, treatment of kidney stones, as well as performing the no-scalpel vasectomy.

Dr. Rosenfeld is also a published author, completing his first book in September of 2011 entitled, “Make Every Shot Count: How Basketball Taught a Point Guard to be a Surgeon.” It’s a fun, quick-reading story about a young kid who utilizes values learned on the court to overcome adversity and attain his goals. Noted to be a book for the underdog, this highly personal memoir has received extensive positive reviews and has been well received by readers in all age groups.

Born in Petersburg, Virginia and having attended medical school in Richmond, Dr. Rosenfeld is excited to once again be a part of the Virginia community, and looks forward to making a difference in his patients’ lives. He is married to Lisa, who was a pediatric resident when they first met at the Medical College of Virginia. They have one daughter now attending college.

Dr. Rosenfeld is board certified by the American Board of Urology and the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Urological Association and the Mid-Atlantic Section American Urological Association.

Dr. Morrisroe graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA studying human physiology. She then went on to receive her medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington D.C.

Dr. Morrisroe completed her urologic surgical residency at the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Center in Pennsylvania. Most recently, she completed a two year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA, training under the world renowned pelvic floor surgeon, Dr. Shlomo Raz.

The only female urologist in the South Bay, Dr. Morrisroe actually bridges the gap between gynecologic and urologic medicine. The Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship is recognized by both the American Board of Urology and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Dr. Morrisroe is the only doctor in the South Bay who has completed this fellowship. She offers patients training and experience in a myriad of evaluative and management techniques for pelvic pathology. She also treats patients with prior failed reconstructions, including complications resulting from the use of vaginal and/or urethral synthetic mesh. From the simplest urinary tract infection to complex fistula disease to pelvic organ prolapse, Dr. Morrisroe is trained to diagnose and treat any and all female urologic issues.

Dr. Morrisroe is originally from Sacramento, California but is happy to call the South Bay her home.

Originally from Texas, Dr. Wolk received his BS from the University of Texas in 1973 and his MD from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1977. He completed his residency in surgery at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center in 1979 and his Urology residency at the University of California at Irvine's College of Medicine in 1982. The following year he was Chief Urology Resident.

He was a Urology Research Fellow at both Cambridge University's Department of Immunology and in the Department of Urology at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, England in 1981.

Dr. Wolk is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology, a Fellow with the American College of Surgeons and a member of AUA, Western Section of AUA, CMA AMA, Los Angeles County Medical Association, American Fertility Society, Pacific Coast Fertility Society, Society for the Study of Male Reproduction.

He has hospital privileges at Little Company of Mary Hospital and Torrance Memorial Hospital, both in Torrance, CA.

Dr. Farshad Nowzari is a board-certified urologist and fellow of America College of Surgeons. He received his medical degree at George Washington University with honors in 1995 and completed his residency in genitourinary surgery. He subsequently went on to complete a mini-fellowship training in minimally invasive urologic surgeries with one of the world renowned experts in the field at University of California, Irvine.  He has special interests in minimally invasive urologic surgeries in treatment of urological oncology, laser treatment of urinary tract stones, laser prostate and bladder surgeries, impotence, male hypogonadism, male infertility, post-menopausal vaginal disorders & female urinary incontinence.

Dr. Nowzari's approach to medical care is to personalize and craft a customized treatment plan with the patient.  Most urological conditions bring out sensitive issues that require honest two-way discussions without fear of embarrassment. Treatment is not just about a disease but how the disease affects that patient's life and this tailored approach has been an effective plan to provide the most optimal patient experience.

Dr. Nowzari enjoys outdoor activities and community work in his spare time.

Abbey Gaske, MD, is a fellowship-trained and board-certified urologist who welcomes patients of all ages to her South Bay practice in Torrance, California. Dr. Gaske has served the residents of the greater Los Angeles area since 2000, combining her medical experience with compassion and a patient-centered philosophy that helps men, women, and children feel comfortable when discussing their urinary symptoms.

Dr. Gaske understands that topics like urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction (ED), and pediatric bedwetting are sensitive. She also knows that effective treatments exist to help resolve these often embarrassing and painful issues. She wants individuals to realize they don’t have to just live with their urinary symptoms and stays well-informed about the best care strategies available for a wide range of urological conditions.

Other urological issues Dr. Gaske focuses on in her practice include overactive bladder, prostate enlargement, kidney stones, urinary tract infection (UTI), and prostate cancer. Dr. Gaske earned her medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. She continued her training in Brooklyn, completing her surgical and urological residency in 2000. Dr. Gaske then headed west to rejoin her family and completed a fellowship in endourology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Her goal is always to relieve her patient's pain or distress and improve their overall physical wellness by restoring urinary health. Her medical skill and experience, as well as her kind and caring personality, give patients good reasons to rely on Dr. Gaske as their family urologist.

Dr. Edwin Diaz joined Arkansas Urology in 2004 after working in private practice in Belleville, Ill., and serving as chief resident in the department of surgery, division of urology at Saint Louis University. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Houston Medical School and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. His Masters in Business Administration was obtained from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2017.   Dr. Diaz is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urological Association, American Association of Clinical Urologists, Endourological Society, Arkansas Medical Society, Arkansas Urologic Society, LUGPA and Pulaski County Medical Society.   Dr. Diaz and his wife have three children.

Dr Klotz is a leading urologic cancer surgeon and research investigator in Canada and worldwide. He is highly regarded by his colleagues and collaborators for his transformative contributions to evidence-based treatment standards for prostate cancer.

Dr Klotz is best known for his role in championing the Delayed Selective Intervention standard for prostate cancer treatment. This conservative approach recommends monitoring only for men with low risk of developing aggressive cancer and offering treatment only to the few who bear a high risk. The result has been a significant reduction in overtreatment, helping many avoid treatment entirely, with important quality of life impact for hundreds of thousands of men around the world every year. The success of his approach is now influencing treatment standards for other cancers where there are risk differences. In addition to this achievement, Dr Klotz made the important discovery that intermittent androgen suppression can help patients with prostate cancer who show rising PSA levels after radiotherapy. This research, published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2012, was one of the most successful trials carried out by the NCIC Clinical Trials Group.

Dr Klotz has received numerous accolades, including the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for meritorious public service in 2013 and the Society of Urological Oncology Medal in 2014. Most recently he was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2014 for his leadership in the adoption of the Delayed Selective Intervention standard. The Canadian Cancer Society has benefited from his generosity through years of service on peer review panels. He is recognized as a compelling communicator, generous with his time for academic service and mentorship, and a global ambassador for Canadian surgical oncology.

Dr. Fabrizio specializes in urological laparoscopy for benign and malignant conditions including prostate and kidney cancer, adrenal surgery, kidney donation and complex kidney and ureteral stone surgery. With the support of his partners, he created the laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and robotic assisted prostatectomy program as well as the laparoscopic kidney donor program in Norfolk, VA. He also started a training fellowship in endourology and laparoscopy in 2003 which has received national recognition in Quality of Life Outcomes research for prostate cancer treatments. The fellowship has won awards for publications and been cited by USA Today and Reuters News. He has published many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters as well as lectured around the world on topics in endourology and outcomes. Local and National media recognized Dr. Fabrizio among other transplant surgeons for performing a national kidney swap where numerous patients donated kidneys to recipients around the country.   Hampton Roads magazine has recognized him as a Top Doc multiple times (most recently in 2016), and he is listed among America’s Top Docs in Castle and Connolly Top Docs recognition.  Dr. Fabrizio notes that he is “proud to be associated with a urology practice that offers specialty care in all areas of our field. We have assembled one of the best trained faculty in the country, and our practice offers not only outstanding clinical care but access to ground breaking clinical trials and the most up to date surgical techniques”. He has served as the CEO of Urology of Virginia since 2008.  As the CEO, the practice has experienced 15% or more growth year to year.   In 2017, Inside Business Magazine named Urology of Virginia a “Roaring 20” business, recognizing it as one of the top 20 businesses by growth in Hampton Roads.  He is the co-founder of The Atlantic Clinic, which is a medical tourism and healthcare provider in the British Virgin Islands.

As a urological oncologist, Dr. Given’s focus is on the treatment of prostate, bladder, kidney and testes cancer. He is also active in clinical research trials in urological oncology and serves as principal investigator in several of these trials. He is an associate professor of urology at Eastern Virginia Medical School and is currently a member of the COLD Registry Board. Dr. Given has served as president of the Tidewater Urologic Society, president of the Virginia Urological Society and chief of urology at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Given is a member of the American Urological Association, the Society of Urologic Oncology, the Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urological Association, and the Virginia Urological Society. He has presented at numerous meetings of these organizations. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Liu is proud to be in a practice where colleagues genuinely work well together, constantly learning from one other and striving to deliver the best possible urologic care to their patients. Dr. Liu has an interest in all aspects of urological care which include: benign prostate diseases, urinary stone diseases, urinary incontinence, urological cancer diagnoses and treatment, infectious diseases of the urinary tract, and erectile dysfunction. He has expertise in the use of lasers for BPH and stone diseases, and also performing minimally invasive endoscopic procedures and laparoscopic surgery of the kidney. Dr. Liu enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. Together they enjoy traveling, hiking, sporting events and music. Dr. Liu is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Urological Association, Societé Internationale d’Urologie, Tidewater Urologic Association, Virginia Medical Society, and the Chesapeake Medical Society.

During Dr. Raman Unnikrishnan’s training at Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio, he spent a year involved in advanced kidney cancer research studying the effects of targeted therapy on the immune system. Dr. Unnikrishnan’s clinical interests include robotic-assisted and minimally invasive surgery, stone disease, as well as benign and malignant diseases of the bladder, prostate, and kidney. Dr. Unnikrishnan has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at both regional and national meetings. He was awarded Best Poster at the Ohio Urologic Society meeting in 2014 and Best Poster in Kidney Cancer at the North Central section of the American Urological Association meeting in 2014. Dr. Unnikrishnan is a member of the American Urological Association and the Society of Endourology.
